We are proud to announce our newest member in the Neches Restaurant Group—Taco Rey Mexican restaurant!

The 60+ year Southeast Texas legendary restaurant joins Crown Pizza and Willy Burger to round out spectacular craft pizzas, burgers, and now tacos (and more Tex-Mex favorites).

Taco Rey has worked closely with the craft burger and pizza brands over this past year, building toward new goals and the highly anticipated food hall in Port Neches. In working together, the teams saw a lot of commonalities in vision, values, and means. Over time, it was easy to see that the restaurant is a perfect fit for the group.

The award-winning, longtime Tex-Mex restaurant brings a feast of deliciousness like their signature enchiladas, fajita nachos, seasoned beef tacos, margaritas, and the beloved, unique Fideo—the Spanish pasta dish. Taco Rey also brings a superb reputation of hometown service and original family recipes that get better and better with each passing decade.

The new addition of Taco Rey adds a jolt of industry experience, extra buying power, and remarkable reach to more customers for the restaurant group. In turn, Taco Rey gains more resources with a team of marketing, operations, extended market reach and new growth potential under the Neches Restaurant Group umbrella.

Johnny Collazo, Jr. is a third-generation owner of the restaurant. He will remain owner of Taco Rey in this new partnership, thus, keeping it a family-owned legacy for years to come. As Neches Restaurant Group founder/owner, Dallon James, describes it: “It’s still family owned. The family’s just bigger!”

Collazo will also serve as Managing Partner and Chief Operations Officer within the group, putting his expertise and learned skills to work for all three brands. He has already begun working closely with Executive Chef, Alden Pond, for projects in both Crown Pizza and Taco Rey.

Next up for the team is the opening of Crown Pizza in Katy, Texas. The restaurant is set to be larger than the original Beaumont location and sits right in front of Katy High School, right across from Willy Burger.
